International Student Admissions
Hosting an International Student
When you open your home to a Bishop Lynch international student, you become an important and influential part of the cultural education the student receives. You and your family will help shape the "American" experience of the student, provide them with a safe and secure environment, and be their "home away from home" during their time as a Friar.
Although each student's needs may vary, most host families will need to provide the following:
- Transportation to and from school and activities
- At least two meals per day
- Wireless internet access
- Laundry services
- A separate bedroom
Host families must be willing to submit to safety/background checks to be performed by the student's agency.
In addition to the numerous intangible benefits of opening your home to an international student, host families are given a monthly stipend. Stipends for hosting an international student are typically paid on a monthly basis and vary based on the student's needs.
