About Mr. Burnham
I am excited to begin my ninth year of teaching and my fourth year here at BL in the Theology department.
Prior to coming to the Bishop Lynch community, I began my teaching career in New Mexico where I taught 9th and 10th grade Religion for Sacred Heart School and Parish. After I got married, I took another teaching position in Gallup, New Mexico, at Gallup Catholic High School where I taught 9th and 12th grade Religion, Algebra I, and II, Geometry, Computer Literacy, and French. Later, I took a position teaching Geometry for the public school system at Gallup High School, where I was on a team that standardized the Mathematical Assessment Time-line and Set Curriculum (MATSC) for the district of McKinley County, New Mexico.
Before I found my vocation as a teacher, I started Burnham Industries with five of my siblings selling retail fireworks. We each began with a humble wooden vegetable stand and now have expanded to six circus-size tents and a year round permanent building called Burnham Fireworks. Today, I run my own branch of entrepreneurial retail named Bubba's Fireworks.
I have lived most of my life in New Mexico with my parents and nine siblings. I did my undergrad work in Santa Paula, California, at Thomas Aquinas College where I received a B.A. in Liberal Arts (which is a focus/major in Theology, Philosophy, and Sciences). At the University of Dallas I earned a Master in Theology along with an Advanced Reading Literacy in Latin. I am continuing work in Greek for reading proficiency at the University of Dallas.
My graceful and lovely wife Melissa has put up with my silly hobbies for nine years, as I spend my free time cooking, running, personal training, juggling, playing basketball and rugby, and wrestling with my son Blaise (8), my daughter Gemma (6), and our newest addition Leo (1).
