David Ippolito '11 & Mark Tomasovic '11, ArriveKenya

Arrive is committed to helping impoverished children gain a second chance at life. Partnering with Fariji Volunteers, we are currently achieving this by taking orphans from the streets and giving them a new chance at life at the Keumbu Rehema Children’s Home (KRCH). We have established the home in rural western Kenya as a place of refuge for 30 orphaned children, 20 who were former street children. The home is situated on three acres of beautiful, fertile land. Each child sleeps in his or her own bed, goes to school every day, eats three healthy meals per day, lives a healthy and sober life, and is happy. The KRCH was built by Arrive and Fariji Volunteers and supports all 30 children who live there. The boys and girls range in age from 4 years old to 17 years old.

David is not only Arrive’s Fundraising Chair, but also helped Arrive President Brian Ash launch this philanthropic mission as University of Colorado students.

Mark Tomasovic, a University of Texas student, helped provide valuable on-site engineering expertise when it came to piping fresh-water.
